Then stop. Don’t do it. Find another way.
𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. Reconnect with people you lost touch with. Connect with new people, it doesn’t matter how you do it, find the way that works for you. Tell people 2-3 specific job titles you are looking for, ask for their help, ask who else in their network they will intro you to. Remember, it’s a network, not just first-degree connections. Commit to expand, deepen, and leverage your network every day.
𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹-𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹, remember that…? People are back in the office more these days. Mail in your resume to the VP of whatever role you want. Don’t wait for them to post an open role, just mail it in anyway. Then call a couple of days later to follow up and pitch yourself. 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱, 𝟭𝟴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸. Ideally, but not necessarily, with a focus on what you do - tech, healthcare etc. Print 50 copies of your resume on good quality paper. Put your best threads on. Get in the car. Walk the business park, hand deliver your resume to the best person you can find.
