Resumes are often written as though the “reader” will read every word. They won’t. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱. 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝟱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗼 “𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴” - in other words, to dig a little deeper. What’s the one thing that’s going to make them want to dig? 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. So you need to put that where it will be found in that first 5 seconds. At the start of your bullets.

𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯-𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮, 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘺 15%

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲: 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝟱% 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻-𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺

𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮, 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 5 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲: 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝟱 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺

𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘞𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦 8 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩, 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘣𝘺 20%

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲: 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟮𝟬% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟴 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵

𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦: 𝘕𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘺 $50𝘬

See the difference? 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱. Your turn - how can you re-write the bullets in your resume to get the impact in the first 3 words?
